The promoter of this short film competition on “Childhood” are the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Facolty of “Scienze della Formazione” and Facolty of “Scienze della Comunicazione e dell’Economia”) and the Cineclub Reggio – Fedic (promoter and organizer of Reggio Film Festival).
The collaboration between the Universities and Fedic has started in January 2007 with the aim of promoting studies, researches and educative initiatives based on education and communication themes, with particular references on language, audio techniques and other cinematographic works.
The first result of this collaboration is the short film competition, “Non uno di meno”, focused on the theme of childhood.
The short film competition is opened to a first group made of primary school at the national level and a second group composed of the local Universities collaborating on the project.
First Group: The primary schools should realize a short film of a duration of over 7mns, in DVD-video format, on the reality of the school environment, and send their works to the organizer before October 26th, 2007.
Second Group: Universities should realize a short film of a duration of over 7mns, in DVD-video format, on the theme of “Childhood, Education and Mass media”.
The price-giving date and place: On November 20th 2007 at Reggio Emilia, during the initiative of the Faculty of “Scienza della Formazione” from Modena and Reggio Emilia Universities on “the childhood rights”, a price of 1000 Euros will be given to the winners of each groups.
This project has also given birth to the creation of an archive of short films centered on “Children and Educative methods”. As a start, short films from the last edition Reggio Film Festival 2006 entitled “Children” have been collected.
