Parma International Cooperation Committee
The municipality of Parma in collaboration with 19 voluntary associations have promoted “Parma solidale nel mondo”, a committee with the function of conveying to citizens all the activities and the works in the field of solidarity and international cooperation.
The committee- The committee is open to public and private associations of Parma and all around. The aim is to realize initiatives to aware people about international cooperation raising fund projects. The Parma’s associations, which are working on international projects, are more than 100, and 54 of these are focused on Africa.
Enrico Faini, president of the association “Solidarietà Mungano” and committee councilor, is enthusiastic about the project. According to him it allows many associations to debate and collaborate together “We have also the aim to give a message: the poverty in the world is not a fatalistic phenomenon, but everyone is responsible and everyone can make his own part to contribute to find new solutions.”
The initiatives- In the committee there are 3 groups of work: the campaigns of communication, the organization of the events and the fund raising. The first project of “Parma solidale nel mondo” is titled “Fund raising Conad” in collaboration with Conad which on a special day will promote the committee selling their products to clients.
Another communication initiative is the new website “Parmamondo” which Gabriella Ferrari, president of the committee, defines as “the house of all people who work in this field”. The website puts together all the associations and the initiatives organized in the territory.
The aim of “Parma solidale nel mondo” is in fact to promote peace and solidarity in all the world acting in as more fields as possible.
