Inauguration of the "Corte Roncati", a multifunctional pole for disable people in Bologna
The president of the Council Romano Prodi and the local authority have inaugurated last Saturday the multifunctional pole for disable people “Corte Roncati” . This new structure integrates hospitals and private health centres such as the “neuromotor infantile handicap” Center, “Michele Bottos”, “linguistic e cognitive handicap” Center.
The pole is part of the program “Caring of people with handicaps” of the USL group of Bologna, directed by the professor Giancarlo Marostica. The idea is to consider the handicap as another way of living and not only like a pathology or syndrome. The consequences is to support disable people to live their handicap in a day-to-day life and to reveal and to optimise their abilities and skills. The result is to rehabilitate the individual into the social and professional life and to see the disable person with his/her family as part of the process of rehabilitation.
