In Reggio Emilia a new transport service has been created for disabled people
A shuttle will be at the disposal of disabled people and their family, and so a new style of life is offered to them.
Municipality and local Pharmacy (Fcr) have set up this new transport programme in the aim of giving to the disabled people more opportunities, freedom and chance to move, socialize and work within the community.
This new experience of personalised mobility service will be on till December, 31st 2008.
The Reggio Emilia new transport service includes 3 kinds of services such as a “door to door” service to give a lift to disabled people to their work, activities and therapies; a “taxi” service to drive them within the municipality territory in case of other travels than the one above mentioned; “from - to” service where the person will have to call first the Act centre, and then, post then on one of the original bus stops Act to be picked up.
Timetable & Fees:
For each transport service the user have to subscribe to Act service and get an annual pass.
The “door to door” service will be on from Monday to Friday (from 6.45 am to 7.30 pm) and on Saturday (from 6.45 am to 2.30 pm). The fees are between 100 and 200 Euros per year depending on the number of go and return per week.
The cost “taxi” service will depend on kilometres: 3km-7 Euros

-Plus 7 Euros for the personalised service, the person who will accompany will have free fee-
The “from - to” service will be on from Monday to Friday (from 6.45 am to 7.30 pm) and on Saturday (from 6.45 am to 2.30 pm) regarding all the bus lines of the municipality. The night bus has to be booked first, and will work every night from 20.30 pm to 00.30 pm.
The users of the Act special bus will have to add to their normal pass card 2 Euros for each travel.
